PCAT City Metro's modular design and unique jointing system provides major benefits over existing metro slab track types. The high quality components and the rapid jointing process are expected to revolutionise urban metro construction, avoiding the necessity for the relocation of underground services and major disruption to road users this inevitably causes, ultimately reducing build time for a city metro scheme.

 

PCAT City Metro's fast track construction process maximises the benefits of the existing road structure by in-situ recycling the bituminous layers to provide the 200m deep HBM (Hydraulically Bound Material) base. This minimises the need for imported materials and waste to be removed.

 

The shallow construction depth and modular concept minimises the necessity to relocate many of the underground services. Should access be required to apparatus for repairs or alterations to the track alignment in the future, slabs can be detensioned and removed and new slabs installed without causing major impact to road and metro operations.

 

PCAT City Metro slabs also incorporate internal cellular rubber cyclinders that reduce slab weight, absorb vibration and reduce ground borne noise.
